10th December

WOW i can't believe it's been so long since i last blogged.
Well since last time, i am now the owner of a rescue dog called Freddie, he's a lurcher about 4-5 years old.
I am not ready for christmas at all.
I am getting a cricut expression for christmas (spoilt) :)
It's 4 weeks till my birthday (oh no)
My Nephew has just got engaged.
I made a fool of myself outside school this evening, girls are doing their christmas play so i drooped them off, then coming out of school i feel down the stairs :(:(

8th November

Just been to nightschool and made a angel pendant for a confirmation present :)
Going on a RYA powerboat course all weekend, so if you are in Coniston watch out :):)
Just booked my one and only craft fair for December, it seems wierd just doing one.

27th October

Well what a great day :):):):):)
Went out looking at dog kennel/runs this morning and im picking one up later in the week, so that's sorted. Im ending up getting a bigger one so i need to put more flags down which i will pick up tomorrow.
Then came home had dinner then went to pick up my new phone and the girls ended up getting one each too, thanks sis.
Then we went on the Halloween train which was fantastic, i jumped out of my skin so many times :):):):)
Then came home put the kids to bed and had a nice Indian followed by a video.
All in all a lovely day :)

26th October

Yesterday i bought 5 cuttlebug embossing plates and i love them, they work so well in my sizzix machine :):):):)
Today i have been working:( and i still feel manky but hopefully will be better soon. Linda fron CBC came to see me in the shop, it was lovely to see her :)
Tomorrow im going to pick up my new mobile phone from my Sister :) ready for a change and as she sells phones and accesories where else would i go. My ring tone is going to be the one where Peter Kay says ohhhhhhhh no my biscuit, it's fallen in my brew (this makes me laugh everytime i hear it)
Also going to look at a dog run with kennel :):):):):) happy happy happy

OMG i sold 20 Christmas cards to one person today, how fab is that :) now i need to make more :)
Pulled my back out a bit today and my knee is playing up again, need putting out of my misery.

21st October

Well yesterday we did out 4 hours bag packing at M&S, some people are so rude.
Last night we went to Blackpool lights, got that over with for another year :)
Today i did the house work i should have done yesterday while i was bag packing, then went for a walk round Tarn Hows which was lovely such fab weather here at the moment :):)
Back to work tomorrow :( kids going to my Mums.
Now i need a cuttlebug after seeing Sue's embossed die cuts for the swap :):) i will add it to my very long list.

16th October

Not blogged for a while, whoops.
Not enough hours in the day like usual.
Been putting flags down in the garden for a dog run, now need to buy a dog run to go on it, then the dog. It's so when we are out somewhere the dog can't come it will be able to do it's own thing in there.
Girls did a class assembly this morning on Beamish, poor Meg was pooping her pants.
Trying to get my silver jewellery sorted to go in the shop, been trying new designs :):)
Im starting a youth club in the village on a wednesday, why oh why do i volunteer myself for everything. Next saturday im bag packing in M&S for 4 hours for school. Thurday night before nightschool i spend a hour at Brownies doing sewing which i hate,sewing and me don't go together at all.
Made some wedding cards today, just don't feel like doing the things i need to be doing.

5th October

Well i managed to get the girls 6 fancy dress outfits last weekend, so they should last a couple of years :)
Been busy making christmas cards and silver chain bracelets, put my christmas cards in the shop today and sold about 10 :)
Feeling so worn out at the moment, too many things to do and not enough time to do them.
Well at least it's weekend :):)

29th September

Just been to the Brownie swimming gala where we came 3rd, the girls had a great time.
Managed to sell 8 necklaces today :):) need to make more now :)
When i was little i always wanted a Russian doll, today my Mum bought me one lol.
Got the girls lap trays so they can craft in the back of the car on longer journeys (i think i need one to)
Might be going to the wholesalers in the morning to get fancy dress outfits for the kids and a few crafty bits and bobs for me (sorry i mean the shop) :):)

Well I've been busy and today i have delivered my save the date cards :):):):) phew
My second week at nightschool :):):):):):):):) made 3 bracelets
My wedding stamps arrived at last.

Not much to say apart from i started making cream cakes in the shop today, i feel sick :):)

And i now make the best hot choc in the world too :)

RIP Colin McRae & Johnny

Such a sad sad day :(
I spent many a day in our local forest when the British rally used to come through, we used to marshal on the days when they would come through to make pace notes etc. They were allowed to come through the forest twice and were only allowed to go through at something like 40 mph, so for a laugh i would move and stand in a different place for the second run through and you should have seen them slow down :):) it was good fun.Then we would be there again on the actual day to make sure things were safe and that it all went well, quite often because of the speed they would be going you would get hit by loose stones being thrown up by the tyres.
It was alway such a privalage for me to be there watching my ralling hero Colin.
Such a sad waste

9th September

Yesterday we got our certificate at last with our 5 stars :) going to put it on the wall in the shop tomorrow.
Last night we had friends over for a meal and a few beers which was nice.
Today we had a little lie in then off to the lake for the afternoon with a picnic which was nice.
Back to work in the morning, why do weekends go so fast ?

Not got the energy to craft today just chilling on the setee with a huge cuppa and my laptop :)

Well we spent all morning trying to find a guinea pig and still haven't got one.
Girls are back to school tomorrow so im back to work.
Will have to look for a pig at the weekend.

2nd September

Well not a very busy day today.
I was going to do some gardening but it was raining so we went out to find a guinea pig but came home empty handed.
This afternoon i attacked the craft room, i finally put the bookcase in and had a tidy for the whole afternoon, i even managed to get 2 bin bags full of rubbish.
Today i booked myself on a 2 day rescue/safety boat course in October (blumin cold)
Also this evening had 2 booking for pie/peas, so that's good.

OMG Im a very bad blogger (1st September)

OMG i can't believe how long it is since i last posted :0
I've been busy with the shop, it's a tough life but someone has to do it. We had our enviromental health spot check a couple of months ago and got top marks so that was nice.
Also with the school hols i've been busy with the girls and sailing, Meg managed to win both the cups :) :)
Yesterday my sister has asked me to do all her wedding stationery which is a lovely compliment but also a bit scarey, so much to do.
But it's nice to get back to my crafty desk and get cracking.
I bought a couple of rubber stamps last weekend in York at make your mark :) but apart from that not much lately due to lack of spare cash.
Going to buy another guniea pig in the morning :) this one will be mine :)
I've just enrolled onto my silversmithing course for another term, so that starts in a couple of weeks.
Only got one more stamp to go on my papermill loyalty card, nice free box of card on my next visit :)
I will shut up now and i will do my best to blog each day :)

Well we have survived our first week :)
it's been hard work but worth it.
I only managed to put my cards in yesterday and i have sold a few already, so that's good too.
2 days off now which i need after working 6 days i am shattered.

Anyway shop sign went up today and we think it looks good so not bothered what anyone else thinks :):) (im turning into a hard woman)
Day to day running is going to seem like a doddle compared to the last few weeks.
I still haven't posted any pics and seen as i should be able to get some pics of the complete thing tomorrow i will do them all at once.

28th March

Well today was the day of the world record attempt at the longest rolling Mini convoy.
We arrived at 6pm where we signed in and had a drink, there was a local group playing which were good.
At 7.30pm we had a drivers briefing where we were told what to and what not to do :) we were then given a sticker to say that we had attened , if you didn't have the sticker you were not allowed to drive. While we were in the meeting out passengers had to go and get into the cars ready to go.
We all dashed back to our cars to drive up the road a bit to where the police had closed the road ready, we formed 2 rows then on the go ahead we all set off. There were people along the route taking pics and waving which added to the atmosphere.
when we had driven the 2.2 miles we went up to the next roundabout then back on ourselves where we could see the rest of the mini's behind us doing the bit we had just done. Then it was a dash back to woodmans BMW where they had Champagne and food waiting for us.
The group came back on and the GWR guy anounced that we had done it, we had 269 minis. The record we were trying to beat was 195 so we did it easily, it was well organised and we should find out in the morning how much money was raised for comic relief.

26th March

OMG so busy at the moment trying to get the shop open for friday.
Doing loads of last minute things.
Also doing the record mini rolling convoy on wednesday night too, need a break.
Loads happening this week, it's totally mad.
Got my coursework to do too.
I will do a longer post when i get time.

21st March

Well im feeling better today the bug or whatever it was has gone :)
Had all kinds of problems this last week with so called professionals not ringing or emailing or not delivering things when they are supposed to and to say it's getting my back up is a understatement. I seriously need to be earning some money now and it isn't funny anymore, in general i always try and see the funny side when TSHTF but i am past that now and am PO.
Pray for good weather as i need to do some painting outside in the next couple of days.

19th March

Well the serveover chiller arrived, im still in shock that is has finally arrived in one piece this time.
Still waitng for the replacement warmer and for them to pick up the one that's in pieces.
The weather today is very cold and windy and the hills have loads of snow on them, so lovely.
Parents evening went well, both girls are fab.
Very short blog today as im not feeling to good.

18th March

Great day today, not done anything to do with the shop at all.chill time.
Got a fab bag from Meg today for Mothers Day she made the felt to make it with and everything. Dad took them to get me some chocs yesterday too.
Abs made me some badges :) and a huge poster instead of a card.
Hubby got me a watch and some flowers for our 12th wedding anniversary, and we have been out to our nearest pub for a fab meal. Also promised a day off soon to go on a felt making class.
We went for a very short walk because it was so windy and cold today, it has snowed on and off.
In the morning the chiller is supossed to arrive at 9.30 so i have managed to get some helpers arriving to help get it in the shop so it better come or i will do my nut.
Parents evening tomorrow, better be good or there will be trouble :) :)

16th March

Well still no chiller. The warmer arrived i opened it and all the glass was broken in the bottom of the box. When i came out of the shop to go home a bird shit on my head. So all in all a fantastic day (NOT)

15th March

Well the coffee man came today and a machine is going to cost 2500, and i don't even like coffee.
The serve over chiller hasn't turned up and i am now very very p***** off with them.
While i was at nightschool Meg was doing morris dancing at Browines and Hubby had to go and join in, i wish it had been on video. Enamelling at nightschool at the moment which is fun after making the boring box from hell.
That's it for today as i am in a bad mood.

Well not been able to get on here for ages so i don't know where to start really.
With the shop at the moment,
the serveover chiller arrived last week (yipee at last i thought) but the marble top was broken in half so it had to go back. I am expecting it to arrive anytime this week and to be honest i am now sick of waiting for the cowboys to deliver another one.
We have been busy sorting out all the last little bits that take ages to do, today i have been making blackboards :) :) ( i like the making bits) also hubby has been drilling very deep holes in the toilet wall for a extractor fan and wireing that up, trips to tip etc.
We have been to see a few wholesalers and one of them is trying to get us a free drinks fridge which would be fab. In the morning the best coffee man in the area is coming to visit us to try and help with our trying to find decent coffee and machine.
It looks like we have staff sorted :)
I have the bar installed just need six stools, which i tried to get on sunday but they didn't have any left and won't have any in for 5 weeks :(
Trying to find somewhere to get a sign made for the front of the shop which doesn't charge a fortune which is proving hard, so if anyone knows anywhere it would be very much appreciated.
Our new shop opening date at the moment is 28th March which is also the day i have entered myself into the mini world record rolling convoy in aid of comic relief, it's going to be in Blackpool and will start at 8pm with a police escort. There will need to be over 195 mini's to break the record, at the moment we have 155 so if anyone else would like to join in leave a message and i will get back to you.
Oh and while ive been away i have also offered to run our village youth group, but won't start that till autumn now.
We are having a village Easter bash on good friday with egg rolling/cake eating/egg decorating etc, it should be fun.
The only crafty thing i have bought lately was 33 flowers from Dunelm on sunday.
I will shut up now as i have gone on and on.

The tooth fairy is coming tonight, it's not like she hasn't got enough money as it is :) :)
It has rained and rained and rained today :(
It's after 11pm and hubby is still at the shop, he is working hard bless him.
I got some flowers from Dunelm yesterday and have pulled them all apart and even used a few on my mini scrapbook.
I am going to buy a big scrapbook at some point

11th Feb

Megans 8th Birthday.
We took her to hobbycraft because she wanted to go and get scrapbooking things with birthday money, im not going to argue :) while we were there my M&D turned up and we met them later on and they took us to Guys for tea :)
She had a party yesterday, we took her and 7 friends to station house pottery to paint pots and had a party tea there too.
I'm still waiting for my cello bags and have emailed them loads and got no re
ply so they are now on the won't shop there again list.
I started my RAK scrapbook that i got from Hazel :)
Posted Valentine card today :) Still need to make hubbys.
I'm worn out at the moment and could do with a holiday,but got to get on with it.

8th Feb

Have been busy sawing wood and drilling holes today.
Also ripped out some tiles / sink / unit out of the back room oh and a water heater :) i enjoyed that :) :)
The snow is pathetic and i was hoping to go sledging with the kids after school but it looks like i will have to go to nightschool instead.
We are supposed to be getting snow on saturday which is great because it's Megs party and we are driving everyone to the pottery.
Still waiting for my cello bag order :(

7th Feb

Well today i got some samples from the graphic designer, and im getting quite excited :) looking good.
Spent quite a long time on my course work today, trying to get as much done as possible.
If i manage to pass level 2, next year level 3 (last level) will be on a wednesday instead which work work out better with the girls clubs.
Just trying to catch up with all sorts this week as im not needed in the shop so i can get other things sorted.
I need some more stamps so i will try and sell a few bits so i can buy them :)

6th Feb

Well we have had the keys for the shop for a month today :)
Busy busy busy, i have been making lots of cards yesterday and today, i have made 50 altogether. Just ordered 500 cello bags, so i better get a move on and make another 450 cards.
It's been A Good evening, managed to win a potato oven on ebay, it had only been used 3 times.
Need to order the serve over fridge next week and get some lino.
The tiles should be going on this week. The plumbing is nearly done.
Dollydimple is a bad girl she has just given a link to some word stamps which would look lovely on the cards i have been making, but i must be good.
I had forgotten that i had got Meg a MP3 player aswell for her Birthday. She said that if anyone wanted to know what she would like that she wanted Hobbycraft vouchers and people just thing i have brain washed her. She is having her party on saturday and sunday is her birthday so we are going to take her to hobbycraft for a crafty spend. What a chore.

Still trying to find the perfect coffee machine, i don't think it's out there. I want a self serve one but a good one not like the small cup ones. I have seen the one i want in a shop but when i have looked on their website it's not there.
Just ordered Megs Birthday pressent, Harry Potter DS game, she is also getting scrapbooking stuff and rings. She is going pot painting on saturday with 8 friends, but if it snows we might just do that in stead.
I nearly forget to say yesterday when we were on our way to Brockhole we saw a man in a thong walking along the road, i guess it was a charity thing PMSL.
Oh and i have decided that the year i turn 40 that im not having a big party i am going to do the Italian Job instead :) :) :) :) :) :) :) i can't wait

Well we have had a quiet day today, we all had a late night last night and are feeling very tiered.
Today was a lovely sunny day so we went to Brockhole, we went on the park then for a walk by the lake :) :)
Came home and huuby cooked a fab roast beef dinner yummy.

Well what a lovely day today loads of sunshine :)
Well this morning hubby was dropping the kids at school and a woman said are you opening a shop etc and said she would like to do some designs for us, she used to work in graphic design and said she would like to do it for us because she still likes to do the odd bit now and again. She said she wouldn't want paying for it as she would enjoy doing it, how kind is that :) :)
It reminds you of the lovely people out there :)
Got the plumber coming in the morning and had more deliveries arrive today.
Sheila, i was drawing on the windows today ;)
It's Linda's 40th Birthday today and i forgot all about it, so now i feel really bad :(
Nightschool last night was pants, and yes i am STILL doing that damn box.
No blog tomorrow as i am out getting drunk, i am going to make up for new year when i was ill, so best not blog.

1st Feb

While i am at nightschool tonight i will try and get Hubby to put some pics on here of work in progress of the shop.
Someone came and asked if we had any work on offer yesterday and landlord came and had a look at what we had done with it up to now and was very pleased with the work we had done up to now.
People keep saying to me is it you opening a cafe and i say no im opening a sandwich bar (which is a very different thing when you look at all the regs etc)
It's a very foggy day here today, everywhere looks spooky :)
I was a bit embaressed today, the girls came home with a news letter and in it is a bit about how i have donated some cards to school for fundraising, i would rather have it left anonomous.
Abs has been invited to a sleepover on saturday, she can't wait but she is only 6 and has never had the oppertunity to be away from us overnight before (she could be home early)

Been busy making cards this week because i have had to stay in waiting for deliverys for the shop.
I've just been to the papermill for some card pack :) and a couple of brads :) ;)
Nightschool tonight, still doing the BOX.

We got Megs project finished at last, what a relief :) she had better get full marks or im going in he he.
Just had a invite to my Dad's Birthday party next saturday night, oh dear that means me drunk again :) :) :)
I've taken a box of cards into school this week to help with fundraising, i just hope they sell.
My dryer is on the blink, typical, why can't these things break when you have money to spare.
Shop moving on slowly at the moment.
YUK alert, was looking out of the livivng room window this morning when a sparrow hawk swept down and killed a little bird, i really didn't need to see that.

What a day,
Went to the tip to take pics for Megs project, nearly there when i spotted a vandal.
Well i got hubby to stop the car while i went to sort him out, little shit was about 10 and called Jamie. He was spray painting a wall yellow, i gave him a godd telling off and told him i was calling the police and that i wanted to know where he lived as i was going to talk to his Mum and Dad.
He was in floods of tears which i didn't buy for one second, he ran off so i chased him for a few miles, i had left my mobile in the car(stupid thing to do)
In the end he got away, i wasn't prepaired to get run over, walking back i spotted a traffic warden so i got his phone off him and called the police but to be honest they didn'y seem in the slightest bit bothered.
When i got back to the car and finally got to the tip the rubbish officer (prat) told me off for not reading the countless signs that were up about not letting kids out of the car, how she can get photos from the car i don't know ( am i bovered) NO.
I did a bit more stamping and H2oing this evening, im loving it :)

Got my new stamps and H2O'S and love them all :) have made Megs party invites and will play some more tommorrow.
The sign for the shop doesn't have to be a black background now because we are putting a board over it so any colours go.
Got to go to the tip in the morning to take some photos for Megs project, i get all the good jobs.
Need to be getting Megs Birthday pressies to, she want's a MP3 player / scrapbooking bits / sports bag / Harry Potter DS game / ring. Im still waiting for my Birthday present, will wait till we have some money in the bank.
Need to start working on logos for t shirts for the shop. Have been to get all the tiles for the kitchen tonight, so they might get onto the walls next week sometime. Still having trouble getting hold of a plumber.
I can't believe another week has passed and i still haven't got any pics on here, i must try harder.

Where oh where does the time go.
The hills look lovely today, all snowy :)
Still busy in the shop, when we are finally open it will seem so easy compared to now (remind me i said that)
I really need some crafty time this week, but in a evening i am soo tired i can't face it.
Found some great wall mounted cabinets at Ikea on friday that i am going to use for my jewellery in the shop :)
Having a real nightmare trying to find the right coffee machine :(
Anyone have any ideas on colour schemes for the signs ? the background is black at the moment so it would be good to keep that, we are going to use letters that are mounted so they stand out from the back. It also needs to look good on T shirts/aprons/T towels/ etc.

18th January

Well it's thursday allready, i can't believe it.
Been busy at the shop again today doing bits, we had visitors (enviromental health + advertising company) which diverted work for a while.
Then i had nightschool, finished a bit early so hubby could go back out to do some more work, it's 23.13 and he is still there.
We have BIL coming tomorrow to help for a while which is great :) still loads to do but we will get there in the end :)
Will try and get some progress pics on here at the weekend if i can work out how to do it.

Well on the shop front things are moving on very well at the moment,
we have been busy putting the kitchen in and doing wiring and plumbing.
Not been easy as some of the walls are seriously thick, it was a stable years ago at the back of the pub (yes a pub next door ) great for the bad days :)
We are so wacked at the end of the day, could sleep for Britain.

H ad a lovely lie in this morning :) total heaven :)
We took a picnic and went to Roanhead which is a beach, it's lovely and sandy with lots of sand dunes.
The kids found enough nice shells to fill their pockets as usual.
There was a nice fresh wind blowing to blow away the cobwebs, a perfect sunday walk :) and we saw 2 puppy labs which were sooooooooo cute and small.
We are just about to have tea then i will do some baking, then i will do some tin tarting for Meg.

13th January

Well it's saturday and it's no different from other days of the week at the moment. working on the shop.
The windolene i put on all the windows last night looked like it was going see through, but this morning when i got there it was fine :) (thanks for that tip)
The girls have been busy building with all the cardboard boxes, it kept them quiet :)
This afternoon i nipped out for a hour to spend the last of my Birthday money, i got loads of bigish brads,flowers,paper pads,card,envelopes etc. Just need some time to play now :)

12th January

Well it's friday and i forgot to eat a crunchie oh well there is always next week.
Nothing to say today really, i made a few cards and put some kitchen cupbaords together.
Oh and i bought a electic mixer from Asda which i might use tomorrow, it was £4.73 i have no idea how they do them for that price.
Well my life can only get more interesting than this, can't it ?

Day Three

Well today it's been one of those running around like a headless chicken kind of day.
Soon as the kids were at school we went to Ikea to buy loads of kitchen gear Ovens/cabinets etc, it was very windy on the motorway and because we had the trailer on we couldn't go in the 3rd lane so we were stuck with all the lorrys which were blowing all over the place.
Just got home in time to get the kids.
Then we had the usuall thursday night dash, Brownies and nightschool, which also took longer because out of the 3 ways in and out of the village only one is passable because the other 2 are flooded, then on the way back tonight the 3rd way is not going to be passable for long as it's got a tree that has started to fall, so that will probably be blocked aswell in the morning.
Best part's of the day were,
Ordered some crafty things from CBC with some of my birthday money :)
Managed to stop at hobbycraft for 2mins to grab a load more fabric flowers which are lovely, and i mean a load. I got 21 packets each with 59 flowers in, i bought all they had in the shop HA HA.
Will shut up now as this is soooooooooo boring.

Day Two in Blog Land

Well here i am again :)
Spent most of the day searching for shop stuff.
Did a bit of my silver box this morning, it's driving me mad.
This afternoon i made a few cards which i enjoyed making.
I posted my first customer order of the year this morning :)
The best part of the day was this, i will tell the story,
At christmas the kids took teachers a beaded bookmark as presents which i had made.
Yesterday daughter No 1 came home with a thank you note which didn't seem right to me.
Then it dawned on me that she hadn't a clue what it was, so asked this morning if she liked the bookmark and she said she thought it was a tree dec PMSL, she had had it hanging on her tree lol.
I just took it for granted that everyone knew what a shepards hook bookmark was. I didn't dare ask the other teacher as i was in danger of wetting myself.

First Blog

Hello Blogland :)
This is my first ever effort so please go easy on me.
We got our keys for our shop on Saturday so we are very busy planning and meeting wholesalers etc. So much to do so little time.
It has taken since September to get this far and is probably going to take till March to get selling.
I had my Birthday on sunday, i had a great time. We all went ice skating and i am only just starting to recover now.
I better go now, i will try and be a bit more interesting tomorrow.
